OutKast will forever be considered one of the most influential hip-hop acts. Today I realize that my obsession with Andre 3000’s semi-recent work on tracks like Frank Ocean’s Pink Matter has left me blind to the masterful artistry behind Big Boi’s solo-career. What I am trying to say is, Big Boi is still so damn cool and this Tiny Desk performance- a collaboration with Sleepy Brown and an 8-member backing band- is quite frankly incredible.
