What makes for the ideal dance music scene? Is it the "go big or go home," dance-til-6am-in-a-musty-warehouse energy that epitomizes youthful energy, or something else? We caught up with Sinca after her recent LA play to chat about one of the dreamier alternatives.

Electronic music shows are often assumed to occupy the realm of the hard and (increasingly) fast--see The Kids Wanna Go Fast. And while I doubt I’ll ever fully tire of those dizzying BPMs, I'm not seeking them as frequently in recent years. I feel an increasing need to protect my peace, gravitating towards more wholesome settings.

Enter Sinca, our guide to the ethereal world of organic house.

Characterized by warm basslines, lush pads, and floating melodies, Sinca describes organic house as a genre that exudes lightness: “The music itself is very positive in general, so it attracts this same type [of crowd].”

Sinca’s performances, characterized by her beaming smile behind the decks, particularly embody this positive spirit. She mirrors the fluctuating moods of the dance floor with grace, aligning her tracks with the crowd’s ebb and flow.

As a rising star on All Day I Dream, a label at the very forefront of this sound, Sinca finds exactly what I've been feeling a lack of at the rave lately: deep connection. She made a similar shift in tastes, moving on from chaotic dubstep dance floors as a teenager. “You kind of mature and going out now, it's not just about the music but also the people that you're gonna be surrounded with."

From my own conversations on the dance floor, the crowd at organic house events tends to be more laid-back and open to banter. I feel safe to express myself without judgment and really get down. There's no "too cool techno" stomping or intense, substance-inciting rave energy.

This ability to foster genuine connections and uplifting energy on the dance floor is the essence of organic house music. With their brightness and unwavering positivity, Sinca and All Day I Dream are rays of luminous passion amidst the din of electronic music. Dreamy, indeed.
