The year is coming to a close, and hopefully you guys have gotten a chance to check out our Top 10 of 2010 series. It’s been a great year for music. Artists like Mac Miller, Hoodie Allen, and Chris Webby have managed to gain a significant following and are all on their way to great things. Meanwhile, artists like Wiz Khalifa, E-dubble, and J. Cole have consistently dropped solid tracks that us Kollectors can’t get enough of.
In an attempt to honor these artists and their outstanding music, here’s a purely subjective list of my top ten tracks of 2010 posted on the Kollection. Hope you guys enjoy it and Happy New Years!
1. My Oh My – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
If you weren’t a Macklemore fan before, then take a listen. Words don’t do this song justice.

2. You Are Not a Robot – Hoodie Allen
The first Hoodie Allen song we posted and arguably his best. Hoodie Allen has set the bar very high with You Are Not a Robot. After hearing this track, it’s easy to understand why everyone thinks Hoodie Allen will be doing big things for a while.

3. Playground – The Dean’s List
Speaking of the next big thing, The Dean’s List comes in at number three on the countdown. They’re in a category of their own. This beat is dirty and the lyrics are simply poetic. Who makes music like this? No one.

4. Nikes on My Feet – Mac Miller
Mac Miller. I hate to say against all odds, but seriously against all odds this 18 year old is the topic of conversation. K.I.D.S. was unreal, and choosing one song of his was truly a challenge. I decided to go with Nikes On My Feet, but again there is just no way to narrow it down.

5. Radio – Chris Akinyemi
This one wins the most chill song of the year. Now can we get some more material from Chris?

6. In the Morning – J. Cole
J. Cole was the artist of the year in my book (disregarding mainstream). Literally every song we posted of his would soon be on the top rated list. In the Morning is one of my favorites. People keep remixing it, but the original is still the best.

8. The Watchers – B.o.B
No Genre was a beast of a mixtape. The variety on this mixtape is unparalleled, and people call this guy a sellout? The Watchers is intriguing because B.o.B openly adresses the illuminati rumors in an almost sardonic manner. Another scenario where there were just too many good tracks to pick from.

9. Wishery – DJ Pogo
It’s painful to think just how much time Pogo put into this track. But the pay off is incredible. This is by far the most out there track on the list, and yet it works perfectly.

10. Shoot Your Love – Cam Meekins
People seem to be especially critical of Cam Meekins. And yes he has given us some questionable tracks, but Shoot Your Love more than makes up for it. It will be interesting to see what Cam Meekins does in 2011.

I gotta say Macklemore deserves the top spot. I first heard about him a couple days ago when you guys posted his mixtape as one of the top mixtapes and I can’t stop listening. He seems like a mix between Brother Ali and Sage Francis in terms of lyrical content and soul, which is just ridiculous.
