The V.S. EP is an awesome collaboration between two incredible artists, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. I’ve found myself listening to these songs over and over since I got it a few weeks ago. The EP itself is several months old, so I’m sure many of you guys have heard about it. If not, check out some of the tracks below or download the entire album! Vipassana: This song is slow, but wonderfully put together. There’s a real emphasis on the lyrics that Macklemore spits emotionally and clearly. Once the beat rolls in, you can’t help to nod your head to the beat.

Crew Cuts: I dare you to try and listen to this song with your windows down, bass up, and not smile. Impossible.

Life is Cinema: This was my least favorite track on the EP when I first heard it. In fact, I even unchecked it in iTunes to skip it all together. However, it’s recently grown on me, and I’m sure if you open you mind, it will grow on you too.

Otherside: This song is intensely sad, but such a good listen. Macklemore tells a story through the lyrics of drugs, life, and death. With some Red Hot Chili Peppers in the background, this song will move you, guaranteed.

Kings: This song has a dark presentation to it, definitely for listening when you’re in that kinda mood. Some great bass though, turn up your volume!

Irish Celebration: Many people don’t know that this song samples from Scenic World by Beirut – it works beautifully. This song is so great to listen to and has a powerful message to everyone out there – live tonight, ’cause you can’t take it with ya! Irish Celebration is a great blend of synth and vocals, on top of the sampled instrumentals – if you’re going to download just one track off this EP, make it this one.

The End: What a perfect end to this great EP. Slow, but with some powerful lyrics delivered passionately by Macklemore.
