That Plane (Whole-Z Remix) – Wiz Khalifa

Here’s an easy-going remix from Whole-Z, a producer that’s been off my radar for quite some time. Whole-Z turns Wiz’s This Plane into a more progressive, laid-back, and relaxing piece – I’m not sure if I like it more than the original, but I appreciate the new style and the creative changes. Take a listen and let me know what you think. Downloads are free, as always!

Fuck School (Sex Ray Vision Remix) – Avicii & Nicky Romero

Sex Ray Vision, bringing their usual heat with a new Avicii & Nicky Romero remix. I think artists take a risk when tampering with well-known artists like Avicii, but SRV did a classy and elegant job that I’m proud to share with you guys here on The Kollection. Take a listen, download for free, and enjoy this Saturday night! Go like Sex Ray Vision on Facebook!

Racks on Racks (Piano Remix) – Bei Maejor

It has been a while since I have posted here on The K, but I figured I’d dive back in head first with this phenomenal Racks remix crafted by Bei Maejor. Maejor has only been featured here on The Kollection once before so for those of you that haven’t heard of him, here is a quick background:

Bei started his extensive music career way back in 2003, when he began writing and producing music for many well-known and established artists like Trey Songz, Wiz Khalifa, Tinie Tempah, Ne-Yo, Bun B, and many more. During college at the University of Michigan, Maejor won a Gold Plaque award for his production on Bun B’s album, Trill. After graduating college in 2008, Maejor joined the Compound entertainment team with Ne-Yo where he released his first mixtape, Upside Down. While working on his own music career, Bei Maejor continually produced instrumentals for other artists. In 2010 he was nominated for a Grammy for his work on one of Trey Songz’ albums.

Maejor never ceases to amaze me with his creative and original, (and free!) music. Whether he is making beats out of children’s toys, or creating a masterpiece cover from, arguably, one of the worst rap songs of the year, Bei always brings something fresh and new to the table.

I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do, Kollect on!

Mr. Know It All (Sex Ray Vision Remix) – Kelly Clarkson

Here’s another catchy, dubstep-style, track from the Sex Ray Vision duo to round out your evening. This time the team brings a bass-line and some dirty wobbles to Kelly Clarkson’s Mr. Know It All. I’m not the biggest fan of the drops, but I think the remix stands strong, and the track is catchy enough. My advice is that this song could be a whole lot bigger with a big-room house remix, something I’d be more familiar with coming from Sex Ray Vision.

Paradise (Sex Ray Vision Remix) – Coldplay

I love the original Paradise by Coldplay, and I tend to be wary of remixes, but when I saw Sex Ray Vision put their skills to the track, I knew I’d like it. This one strays a bit from Sex Ray Vision’s normal style – a good thing, trust me – and brings a bit dirtier, more wobbly feel to this beautiful track. Take a listen, download, and kollect on!

Who Dat Girl (SmarterChild Remix) – Flo Rida Ft. Akon

And on this Sunday, we have a playful, energy-packed remix of Flo & Akon’s older hit from N.Y. producer, SmarterChild. I usually stray away from a lot of the mainstream hits these days, but “Who Dat Girl” began as a fun track and it will finish that way in my book, too. Choppy samples, thick synths, and even those quieter moments in the mix (at around 2:04) make this rework stand out. Kollect above!
