Brenton Duvall has always had an amazing way of taking a unique song and giving it a spin that makes it even better than the original; His latest release of All We Got is no exception. The original track from The Knocks is from their EP titled Magic, but I don’t think they understand the meaning of magic until they hear this. That was cheesy, but it’s true people! The remix gives the song an enchanting feel with an easy flow that revamps the jumpy staccato and wompy-ness of the original. Plus, I thought I heard a seagull sound effect or two in there… way cool. This is the perfect song to listen to with your hand hanging out of the window in your car making that awkward wave motion that you see in the movies, which is probably not the intent of this track, but it still works. The production shows an obvious attention to detail that makes this work of art so wonderful to listen to, and it is a no-brainer if this isn’t added to your kollection right now!

Most of you know that Collin is a pro when it comes to doing covers, and even his original work is unbelievable, but his addition to this Madeon production is just magic. His previous dip into the EDM scene with his Titanium cover and also his original work with producer Sex Ray Vision “Is It Love” shows how Collin is a very versatile and talented artist.
When I first saw this track, I was presented with a conundrum. I love The Jane Doze, but I’m not a huge fan of Katy Perry. So to make me enjoy Perry a little more, my first choice would certainly be to listen to something from the musical minds of Claire and Jen. This time around though, The Jane Doze have teamed up with the guys from Cash Cash to create an original remix heavy with Katy Perry. The catchy sounds that they manage to put together have always been a quality of their mashes that I’ve truly appreciated, and is certainly not lacking in this collaborative remix. I managed to chat with Claire and Jen for a bit about their first released remix to get an idea of what their, and Cash Cash’s, thought processes were when making this original project.

The track starts off with some nice airy synths that really seem to make Katy Perry’s vocals stand out a bit more. . Airy synths are definitely a characteristic of many Jane Doze tracks, so hearing the synths establishes their musical touch quickly. Yet, as I listened to more of the track I detected are some minor elements of dubstep. Nothing too drastic that would make this a dubstep banger, but just enough to cover the lows. We have Cash Cash to thank for this, (Claire mentioned to me that they dabble more in dubstep production). With the track possessing a nice progression of big chord sounds and a musical styling reminiscent of Madeon and Robyn, The Jane Doze and Cash Cash have created even dancier version than the radio-version. Overall, this catchy pop-dance infused Girl-anthem that is something that I expect, and love from The Jane Doze, even if it’s Katy Perry. So Kollect this and add it to your weekend Kollection.

With Spring Break right around the corner, DJ Trademark supplies us with his second Party Pack mix (Spring Break Edition). And once again, he litters the mix with an abundance of more unknown tracks that all mesh and flow well together. Great thing about the mix is that it doesn’t maintain the same beat throughout but rather takes you through a variety of different sounds and beats. In essence, this second mix by DJ Trademark gives you a little bit of everything all the while keeping the party vibe at a high level. I loved the intro track and the progressions Trademark did into each new segment, which makes this mix a frontrunner to be played during your Spring Break beach party throwdowns.

A couple of words from DJ Trademark himself – “It’s definitely getting warm here in Chicago, so I kicked off this mix with a dope nu-disco remix by Lenno of “Eyes Wide Open” from Dirty South and Thomas Gold, and from there if puts you in a spring state of mind.”

Track List:

“Eyes Wide Open (Feat. Kate Elsworth) [Lenno Remix]” Dirty South & Thomas Gold
“Must Be The Feeling (South Central Remix)” Nero
“Sorry For Party Rocking (R3hab Remix)” LMFAO
“Speak Up (Feat. Wynter Gordon) [Original Mix]” Laidback Luke
“Patron & Kush (Hatiras Patron Hot Tub Mix)” Sporty-O
“Trio (Original Mix)” Atry, Matisse & Sadko
“Something In The Air (Feat. Tony Cha Cha) [Trademark Bootleg]” Sidney Samson & Kaskade
“Kawaii (Dirty Club Mix)” Oza & Vitodito
“Midnight City (Eric Prydz Remix)” M83
“Icarus (Extended Mix)” Madeon
“Calling (Lose My Mind) [Extended Club Mix]” Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso
“The Night Out (A-Trak Remix)” Martin Solveig
“Call On Me (Vitz Remix)” Eric Prydz
