All We Got (Brenton Duvall Remix ft. One Room, Kardinal Offishall) – The Knocks

Brenton Duvall has always had an amazing way of taking a unique song and giving it a spin that makes it even better than the original; His latest release of All We Got is no exception. The original track from The Knocks is from their EP titled Magic, but I don’t think they understand the meaning of magic until they hear this. That was cheesy, but it’s true people! The remix gives the song an enchanting feel with an easy flow that revamps the jumpy staccato and wompy-ness of the original. Plus, I thought I heard a seagull sound effect or two in there… way cool. This is the perfect song to listen to with your hand hanging out of the window in your car making that awkward wave motion that you see in the movies, which is probably not the intent of this track, but it still works. The production shows an obvious attention to detail that makes this work of art so wonderful to listen to, and it is a no-brainer if this isn’t added to your kollection right now!

Empire State of Time – Timeflies

Timeflies does it again on their latest episode of Timeflies Tuesday, Empire State of Time. I like this one because it’s more upbeat and original than the last couple weeks, sampling JayZ’s Empire State of Mind vocals. Rob’s production on this is great, I love the way they used the original in the chorus, and of course, Cal’s classic lines delivered smoothly as icing on the cake. Icarus (Collin McLoughlin Vocal Edit) – Madeon

Only Collin McLoughlin can melt my heart with his soulful voice, and simultaneously make me want to flip this table over in the library and rage. Most of you know that Collin is a pro when it comes to doing covers, and even his original work is unbelievable, but his addition to this Madeon production is just magic. His previous dip into the EDM scene with his Titanium cover and also his original work with producer Sex Ray Vision “Is It Love” shows how Collin is a very versatile and talented artist. Kollect for free above, and enjoy your Monday!

Part of Me (The Jane Doze & Cash Cash Remix) – Katy Perry

When I first saw this track, I was presented with a conundrum. I love The Jane Doze, but I’m not a huge fan of Katy Perry. So to make me enjoy Perry a little more, my first choice would certainly be to listen to something from the musical minds of Claire and Jen. This time around though, The Jane Doze have teamed up with the guys from Cash Cash to create an original remix heavy with Katy Perry. The catchy sounds that they manage to put together have always been a quality of their mashes that I’ve truly appreciated, and is certainly not lacking in this collaborative remix. I managed to chat with Claire and Jen for a bit about their first released remix to get an idea of what their, and Cash Cash’s, thought processes were when making this original project.

The track starts off with some nice airy synths that really seem to make Katy Perry’s vocals stand out a bit more. . Airy synths are definitely a characteristic of many Jane Doze tracks, so hearing the synths establishes their musical touch quickly. Yet, as I listened to more of the track I detected are some minor elements of dubstep. Nothing too drastic that would make this a dubstep banger, but just enough to cover the lows. We have Cash Cash to thank for this, (Claire mentioned to me that they dabble more in dubstep production). With the track possessing a nice progression of big chord sounds and a musical styling reminiscent of Madeon and Robyn, The Jane Doze and Cash Cash have created even dancier version than the radio-version. Overall, this catchy pop-dance infused Girl-anthem that is something that I expect, and love from The Jane Doze, even if it’s Katy Perry. So Kollect this and add it to your weekend Kollection.

Video Games – Lana Del Rey (Kinetics & One Love Remix) + Video

This remix first dropped last October, but Kinetics & One Love dropped off the official visuals this week. I love the blend between original Lana footage along with concert/highlight footage from Kinetics & One Love’s music lifestyle. The production on this remix is wonderful, and always worth another listen. Peep below and download this if you missed it!

Wild Ones – Timeflies

We missed this Timeflies Tuesday earlier this week, but don’t worry, we’ve got it covered. This Wild Ones remix is soulful and slow, certainly not a party track, but still beautiful and worth a listen. 180,000 views in three days is nothing to laugh about either – Timeflies is blowing up. Check out our interview with Timeflies.
