Mashed Potatoes consists of K. Flay rapping and making fun, laid back music. Her rapping and singing is then “mashed” with instrumentals from popular songs. Although she takes from popular tracks she makes them her own. Filled with funny lyrics, the songs in this mixtape are genuinely fun and enjoyable to listen to. Check out K. It’s Saturday, and I hope everyone’s last week of summer/first week of school went well. I know that I’m tired and in need of some good rest, and I figured some of you were too, so I took a little time today to put together this Chillstep Kollection.
Yes, it’s dubstep. Yes, it’s chill. Chillstep. In this Kollection are 17 beautiful tracks of smooth, laid back, relaxing dubstep songs that I listen to every night falling asleep. In fact, I would highly recommend only listening to this Kollection if you are lying down, lights off, and headphones on. M.i isn’t a well known rapper but does a great job with this mixtape. A laid back kollection of songs with beats sampled from Jack Johnson in which M.i raps over them, The Jack Johnson Sessions are a must download. I’m a big fan of Jack Johnson and the hip/hop rap genre of music and this mixtape gives you a little bit of both. It’s a chill mixtape so be sure to download it below. This mixtape has been sitting in my iTunes for weeks. I’ve listened to it several times, and simply never got around to sharing it with you guys on The K. Well here we are, The Slo Life, by PJ Simas, is by far one of the more chill mixtapes I’ve heard by an upcoming rapper.
He’s got a clean voice that is easy to on the ears, laid back beats, and catchy hooks. The whole mixtape is great, and I see PJ going far. Wale released his new mixtape, More About Nothing less than an hour ago and I know you guys are gonna love this. Wale is one of my favorite rappers in the game, having released prior mixtapes and his own album, Attention Deficit. Amazing new mixtape! Produced by DJ Benzi and Solly “The Annexation” mixtape is truly remarkable. I loved it immediately. It has a pop almost techno feel to it which caught me off guard and I wasn’t sure if I would like it but if you stick with it and listen all the way through you won’t be disappointed. AudioDax is definitely an artist worth listening to. I recommend downloading the whole album. My two favorite songs from the mixtape are below but I can’t stress enough that the whole tape is dope! Gravity is almost a cover song to Modest Mouse’s song Gravity Rides Everything which i really enjoyed and I hope you enjoy as well.

I’ve got a new artist for you guys, Shawn Collins. This EP and tracklist got sent to me by a fan on Twitter and I immediately started listening. This guy’s good, real good – get ready to hear lots more from Shawn in the future.
The EP is titled What A Rush and just came out this past June. What really impressed me about these songs is how diverse and versatile they are. There’s fast tracks, slow tracks, quick lines and more relaxed tracks. His voice is good, rhyming is great, and I gotta say I’m just impressed overall with this new talent. Pedro The Destroyer EP dropped back in December of ’09, but is still among some of my favorite dubstep tracks in my library. NiT GriT delivers an incredible four track EP that will blow you away.
