Guess Who’s Hungover – Childz Play

Here’s a killer new mashup from Childz Play, Guess Who’s Hungover. Blending Archie V., Taio Cruz, Pitbull and Nadia Ali, this track is a beautiful blend of pop and electro hits. Archie V. leading up the instrumental just drives the whole piece, and I actually found myself enjoying Cruz’s bit more than the original. Take a listen, watch the official mashup video, and download for free!

          Mashup Monday No. 44

And now it’s time to end today’s Mashup Monday. We had a great run with new music from The Jane Doze and exclusive release from D.veloped, but all good things must come to an end. Starting us off is Frail Limb Purity and his Glitch Mob inspired mash. You may remember him from a collab he did with DJ Bahler, but this time FLP goes solo and still delivers one hell of a mash with the stunning vocals of The Weeknd. Some parts with Drake seemed a little off, but I will more than overlook that if I can get more Glitch Mob with The Weeknd. Another track I want to highlight is of Compson Sound. Never heard of this artist before but he takes Avicii & Guetta’s “Sunshine” instrumental, sprinkles in some One Republic, Belinda Carlisle, and Gaga to create a truly enjoyable mash. I personally think one can’t go wrong with One Republic, so kudos to Compson for this track.

Finally, I wanted to highlight The Hood Internet‘s “Polish City”. Is it the best Hood Internet track? I wouldn’t say so, but it does something that I truly appreciate. It takes a song – Rack City in this case – that I can’t stand and transforms it into something much better than the original. Rack City to me is the epitome of annoying, yet it’s funny how changing the instrumental can change the entire vibe and feel of the original track. So thank you Neon Indian for providing the instrumental, and even bigger thank you to The Hood Internet for making Rack City much more bearable. Kollect these final tracks for this week’s Mashup Monday and get to enjoying the start of your week.

                Work: Party – D.veloped

Getting off work, or class…and now it’s time to party, err celebrate. Continuing with the greatness of this Monday’s mashups, D.veloped has given us his entire Work: Party mixtape tracked out. 40 minutes of edits, edited remixs, and original mashups split into 22 tracks, and all exclusively for Kollectors. D.veloped’s unique style of mashing and mixing is readily apparent throughout, and I’m still ecstatic over the entire project.

Work: Party came out fairly recent, but its’ transitions, flow, sample pairings, instrumental selections…the whole thing continues to astound me. Each track individually runs a little short but seeing as they transition smoothly to the next song, you don’t really notice it making it very easy to enjoy non-stop. So if you haven’t heard Work: Party yet or are wanting the mixtape in track form, grab the download below exclusively from The Kollection. Also stay up to date with D.veloped new projects and songs over on his newer Facebook page because if there’s one guy that will give you good music and amuse you, it’s D.veloped.

Girls Talk – The Jane Doze

Oh man, it’s a loaded Monday for mashups today and I couldn’t be happier. My madre always told me “Ladies first”, so that could have to do why I’m starting off my Monday with The Jane Doze‘s new album Girls Talk. In all actuality though, it’s because the album is nothing short of amazing. The lovely ladies of The Jane Doze have managed to infuse each track with style, elegance, and beauty – exactly what I would expect from them.

Fresh off their trip over on the West Coast, including djing a Grammy Party, Claire and Jen give us 6 brand new tracks on top of 6 previously released tracks that gives off a feeling of blissfulness. As the title of the album – Girls Talk – insinuates, the album has its’ fair share of female vocals. Yet whether it be from their dub-classic Bullshittin On My Coffee Break, their slow starting new Guns and Contact track that transitions into a steady bumping beat while still maintaining a feeling of serenity, to one of my favorite mashes Born To Feel Beef, I truly enjoyed this album from start to finish. Don’t expect full EDM/straight bangers for the entire album, but rather be graced with the glamour that only The Jane Doze could provide in each track.

Whitney – Norwegian Recycling + Video

Norwegian Recycling dropped his latest mashup last night, another moving tribute to the late Whitney Houston. Whitney does a beautiful job of mixing several Whitney vocal samples on top of pop hits from Florence and the Machine, Bruno Mars, and the instrumental from Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain. I’ve always appreciated Norwegian Recycling’s touch in the mashup game – he really does a great job staying away from the trends and producing more unique tracks. This one is no different – watch the official mashup video below and download for free!

                  Sample List:

Adele – Fire To The Rain
Whitney Houston – How Will I Know
Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)
                  Whitney Houston – So Emotional
Florence And The Machine – You Got The Love
                  Bruno Mars – Grenade

                  Mashup Monday No. 43

Time to start off the week with an ample size of mashups ranging from some hip-hop to heavy EDM-style to more chill vibed mash. Frankly, I had some trouble cutting down the list (started with like 12 tracks) and all I managed to do was get it down to 7. Starting us off is a new artist (to me) that goes by the name of Silent Murda. Silent takes a variety of hip hop samples and combines The Weeknd’s passionate and soulful vocals with the lyrical gangster flow of Biggie, Tupac, Big L, and Wale. Props to my boy Zach over at FMI for showing me this track.

The second track I want to highlight is that of TeeTs. I’ve become accustomed to his fast-paced, heavy EDM style mashes but he shows us diversity by giving something a little bit more chill. Still interesting, thanks to the instrumentals provided by Ronald Jenkees (I highly recommend checking out the original video here) mashed with some R&B vocals of Craig David and Ne-Yo. Personally, I loved Craig David’s vocals on top of the instrumental because it just captures your attention and adds some emotional connection. Other tracks include an older mash that uses some Deadmau5, Kanye, and others; a high-octane/fast-paced mash of Doug Bogan that will surely get your pulse racing; a track from Ridgewood Social Club’s new album – check it out here; and more.
