Well we’ve finally made it. In the words of Brian, “the big five-oh!” and it sure has been a wonderful journey. I was fortunate to take over for the quarter-century mark, and now I have the great pleasure of giving y’all the half-century Mashup Monday post. So in celebration, I present to you not one, not two, but three different EPs/mixtapes along with some individual songs as well. EPs come courtesy of wait what, DJ Topsider, and Sweekuh respectively. Individual mashes are provided by Dotcom, DJ 21azy, Mashed and Confused, Scott Melker, and CHANGE.

wait what’s EP titled tingo is a 24 track compilation from his “wait what wednesday” series, that is full of interesting yet spectacular sample pairings. Hearing tingo in its’ entirety causes me to realize just how unique wait what’s sound is because I’m still struggling to find a masher who utilizes the sample pairings that he creates. DJ Topsider, on the other hand, takes a more direct approach for his $perry Murda EP that spotlights the raw hip hop prowess of Iggy Azalea. Granted, I’m not the biggest Azalea fan on her own but once I heard her paired with some Cudi, with some Crystal Castles, and others, Topsider made me a believer. Having recently opened for the Super Mash Bros., Sweekuh delivers a more than fitting 7 track EP that certainly shows us the impressive ability of this upcoming talent.

In regards to the individual mashes, Dotcom’s track stands out for all the right reasons. “Climax” remix by Kaskade with Katy Perry and Rihanna? Forgive me for being slightly dubious when I first saw the sample list, but once hearing the track…well yeah, Dotcom does it again. An exemplary mashup for sure. DJ 21azy’s mashup was also impressive, especially since it’s a different style than what I’m used to hearing from him. Normally, I’d expect hip-hop on top of hip-hop but this time 21azy layers hip-hop with EDM. Different for him, yet it stands out comparably compared to artists who’ve been doing EDM mashes for awhile. Of course, the final 3 tracks are deserving of being played repeatedly, but I think I’ve rambled on enough.

With this monster edition of Mashup Monday complete, make sure you Kollect all that you can and hopefully we can get another 50+ (man, that’d be crazy) MM segments done. Happy Kollecting! Update: wait what’s tingo EP is available as a free download but if you want to support his cause to helping out 826 Valencia, then you can pay-what-you-want for the download and all proceeds will go to this charitable organization specializing in youth education programs.

Got you a healthy ration for this week’s Mashup Monday. Couple of these tracks were supposed to be thrown up in last week’s segment, but due to a storm knocking out my Internet…well you get them this week. Better late than never, right? But anyways, we got some truly beautiful songs for this week starting off with Sean Johnson’s “Goldiebear” and Dr. Brixx’s “Running From Tomorrow”. Both of them have a mellow and relaxing quality to them that is pleasant to the ears… but we all know that serenity doesn’t last forever with me.

Bringing the energy up a bit are Dotcom as well as Loo & Placido, with Dotcom focusing more on some electro/EDM as the instrumental basis while the latter (L&P) use some good ole Skrillex dubstep to give Queen that extra oomph. Dotcom has really impressed me with all the tracks that he’s been releasing, and with this track he’s just reaffirming the idea that he’s a masher to watch out for. Speaking of what to watch out for, Doug Bogan drops this bomb of a track (in a good way) just as it is announced that he’s going to be doing a show over at Webster Hall with Kap Slap and Greg Golterman on June 7th (info here). So check out the tracks above, and Kollect them all below in one click.

UPDATE: Soundcloud took down DJ MashHawk’s “Veldt Waterfalls”, but it’s worth listening to so you can still get the track if you download the entire list.

Does it always work out great? Not always, but “Pesobedear” is a track that quite exceptional to my ears. For this track, Aaron and Steve take the amazing track “Obedear” by Purity Ring and blends it with A$AP Rocky’s “Peso”. In my opinion, Purity Ring’s more upbeat instrumental is a better complement than the original instrumental of Peso resulting in an interesting mash of contrasting genres. But what do you think, are each track better in original form or does The Hood Internet nail this mash on the head?

Time to wind down the night with a nice assortment of mashups courtesy of some artists you may or may not have heard. Starting us off is an exceptional mash by The FatRat who you may know of due to his equally exceptional remixes. Combining Daft Punk with his own “Do Be Do Be Do”, FatRat gives us an instant party-starter. Following that, we have another classic girl-fire mash courtesy of The Jane Doze. I’ve come to learn that if I want a solid mash with amazing integration of female vocals, I just need to look towards Claire and Jen. However, my favorite aspect is the use of The Temper Trap to really mellow out the upbeat vibe of the instrumental.

The other 5 mashes are great in their own respect as well. Jarod Ripley‘s track utilizes the popular Gotye “Somebody That I Used To Know” with Katy Perry’s “A Part of Me” to create a mash that is enjoyable to relax to. Jay Nebra provides us with some Dirty South flair by employing Wick-It The Instigator’s “Future Krunk” with Tyga’s “Snapbacks Back” that really had me getting crunk. Yes, I just used that as a description. And as for the other tracks by Pineapple Goblin Trott [PGT], Manila Killa, and SYNTEX you can decide for yourself. Kollect below, and good luck to Kollectors that are busy with Finals.

Already racking up an impressive storm of over a 1000 views within the first 24 hours, Third Culture presents us with this incredibly well new executed bootleg! I have never been a huge fan of Maroon 5, but in this case the combination of Sander Van Doorn & Adrian Lux’s athem “Eagles” mixed with Maroon 5’s track “Payphone” is absolutely stunning. Oh man as a bonus, I’m adding his April Bootleg Pack as well. If you’re not already hitting the play button on this one…you’re missing out! Enjoy, and Kollect!

Well the one man dream team known as Sex Ray Vision has struck again. Having recently released Relax about a month ago, Ravi wasted no time in compiling a sweet-sounding mashup album titled Primary Colors. His production taste is apparent as he mainly focuses on creating 12 mashes that utilize electro/house instrumentals. However, the aspect that I perhaps the best thing about the album is that the sample pairings haven’t been used as much. By this I mean, you won’t find Porter Robinson’s “Language” with Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”. Nope instead, he pairs Porter with Backstreet Boys – a classic from way back when. Some personal favorites are “Stacy’s Journey”, “Lights Out”, and “Turn Up The Love”, but in totality, Sex Ray Vision creates an album that is cohesive and plentiful of sure-fire hits. So Kollect Primary Colors exclusively below and show some love to Sex Ray Vision on his Facebook and Twitter pages.

Update: Make sure you share Primary Colors via Facebook or Twitter for a chance to win a pair of SOL Republic headphones courtesy of SRV.

Well as I mentioned yesterday, Carly Rae Jepsen has struck again. This time, Kap Slap takes her vocals and combines it with Swedish House Mafia’s new-ish track titled “Greyhound”. While this is a 1v1 bootleg, there’s no denying the heavy party appeal that the track will garner. So Kollect this killer track by Kap Slap, and check out his music video included below. My only question: what is up with SHM and dogs? Oh and if you are wanting more Kap Slap, as the post image denotes, his new project “Frequent Flyer” is dropping on April 30th so be prepared.

It’s been a while since Mashup Monday has been posted, but fear not, I got another segment for you. With hits from Sex Ray Vision, The Jane Doze, The White Panda, Doug Bogan, and Bruneaux, Monday couldn’t end on a better note. Ravi from SRV is busy working on a mashup album titled “Primary Colors” set to drop on April 24th, and if this track is a display of what’s to come…I want. Jane Doze takes the increasingly popular “Call Me, Maybe” and expertly weaves it together with Porter Robinson’s “Language”. The result is a harder hitting electro pop extravaganza. White Panda is starting to release full-length tracks off of their Bambooyah! album, and their first choice was a great one. “Turn Marvin Gaye Down” was one of my personal favorites for sure. Bogan’s track is amazing with the moombah paired with “Rack City” and Bruneaux takes an interesting instrumental that I love and brings back The Macarena. So Kollect and download below…

*Update: Ego’s track is a late add because I forgot it, but it is sick as hell.
