Ignition (1901 Remix) – The Hood Internet

If it isn’t already, The Hood Internet should be a household name. The dynamic duo has been putting out seamless mashups consistently for several years now. In honor of R Kelly and Phoenix’s performance together at Coachella last month, The Hood Internet threw R Kelly’s classic “Ignition (Remix)” over the timeless “1901″ beat from Phoenix. This mashup works, and works well. Download “Ignition (1901 Remix)” and check out the rest of The Hood Internet’s work on their Soundcloud page.

Angels – Razz

Razz really went in on Angels – sampling Imagine Dragons Demons and giving it a twist of his own. Honestly, I try to stay away from house music. If I do go near it, I am EXTREMELY picky about it. Marc Raziano aka Razz has done a great job at producing quality tracks while flying under the radar. As soon as I heard Angels, I grabbed it and headed off happy. I’m looking forward to hearing what more this New Jersey native will come out with next. In the meantime, take a listen to Angels and his most recent mashup, Royal Weapons.

Hollywood Blvd – DRMWVR

I’m a bit late to this party, but no sweat – good music is always worth a share. I haven’t really been on a mashup vibe these past few months; it really takes something new and refreshing to catch my ear. To be honest, I’m mostly just tired of the generic EDM progressive house vocal/instrumental blends. DRMWVR, a new artist on my list, came out with this cool mashup, Hollywood Blvd last month, and I have to admit it’s pretty damn catchy. Yeah, most of the samples will be familiar, but I have to say this is a unique execution and for a new artist, the production is spot-on.

Workout Wednesday No.5

I think this week may be the best one yet. Every single one of these tracks is full of energy and has that perfect tempo you’re looking for at any point in your workout to help you grind out that last rep. Last week we had a request for some more glitch, so we threw in one of my recent favorites from Cuboid that provides a welcome change of pace. Among my favorites this week are a brand new track from my man AlexAnder, a HUGE track from Martin Garrix and a new The Chainsmokers remix. I hope you guys love this week’s installment as much as I did, lemme know what you think below. Happy lifting!

This Life Forever (MGMT vs Jay-Z Ft. Kylie Minogue) – YesYou Edit

Oh, Hallelujah. Australia’s YesYou create a whimsical little blend (my preferred term over ‘mashup’) here, creatively giving MGMT’s “Congratulations” beat the trip-hop treatment, sprinkling in some good old Kylie vocals, and throwing in a bit of classic Jay into the mix. The result has me smiling – your Kollectin’ ears will love you for downloading this one. Feel-good vibes for days. Grab it above!

Notorious Insanity – Flight Facilities

I usually don’t post Biggie mash-ups, they are a little overdone to say the least, but this one is just so creative and original I had to share it with you guys. There are three tracks in here, the most prevalent being Hypnotize by Notorious BIG, the piano line comes from Jamiroquai’s song Virtual Insanity and the drum patterns come from The Fugees’ Killing Me Softly. The best way to describe this mash-up is smooth, everything feels so right, a laid back piano line, some soft and sweet hi hat work, and a steady flow to tie it all up. Give it a listen yourself and download accordingly.

Arc – 3LAU Edit

If you’ve been following 3LAU’s 3LAU HAUS, you’ll definitely recognize this little tune. As part of Justin’s Mashup Monday series, Arc is a bumping blend of house and big-room progressive, gently welded together and given the 3LAU treatment. The drop at 4:10 is a bit out of my taste, but for the most part, I think 3LAU has done a great job at pulling together this mashup for partiers and spring-breakers.

Tracklist:
Michael Brun, Paris & Simo vs Calvin Harris – Alpha Used To Hold Me (Michael Brun Mashup)
W&W – Lift Off (Original Mix)
Skylar Grey – Room For Happiness (Acapella)
David Guetta – Turn Me On (Laidback Luke Remix)
Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (Steve Angello Remix)
Tonite Only – Haters Gonna Hate (Nicky Romero Remix)

Dead Gold (The Notorious B.I.G x Macklemore & Ryan Lewis) – Chip Ivory

I’ve been on a total mash up binge lately, probably due to Bruneaux’s newly released Creature of Habit. This one comes from Chip Ivory, who skillfully blends the late Notorious B.I.G with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The two hip-hop songs go together extremely well – basically anything involving Biggie’s Dead Wrong is a must listen for me. Check out Chip Ivory’s other songs on soundcloud and like him on facebook.

Creature of Habit [Mashup Album] – Bruneaux

Well, it’s finally here. Mashup artist Bruneaux has been at work for months on end to bring us his third project Creature of Habit - one of the most impressive mashup projects, in my opinion, since Girl Talk’s All Day. That being said please don’t expect to hear top 40 acapellas over Dance music (sigh). Boasting 55 minutes of continuous mixing with 262 samples, you’re gonna get all of the throwbacks and classics you loved throughout the 90′s and 00′s paired with current hip-hop and other genres. What’s maybe more impressive than the sample list is not only how well the unique blends go together but how well Creature of Habit flows in its entirety, keeping you interested the entire time; put this on at a party people will love it. Download above and throw Bruneaux a like on facebook.

All That You Give Faces (Kaskade’s Summer Lovin Mash) – Kaskade vs. Inpetto

Kaskade, oh I love you so. This is such a beautiful (and free!) little piece of music. The build is just perfect, the vocals smooth and enchanting, and oh man, that drop gives me chills. I love that an artist of Kaskade’s size can keep releasing these little freebies for his fans, and they don’t lack the quality or polish that he brings to official mixes. Liste and download this one for free.
