Charlie Brown (Arnar Ingason Bootleg Mix) – Coldplay
Here’s a new Coldplay remix making the rounds through the scene, a bootleg to a less-played track, Charlie Brown. Arnar Ingason is, incredibly, a 15 year old DJ and producer from Iceland. This bootleg is beautiful, uplifting, and euphoric. Beautiful synths, and a driving bass line really push this song forward, and I’ve found myself nodding along several times today. Well, another Katy Perry track has just hit the remix-train. This time, Sex Ray Vision and Milkman take their respective spins on the pop-hit, adding some bass, wobbles, and electronic substance that everyone’s all over these days. Better than the original? Kap Slap & 3LAU – Spring Break & Electro Beach Mixes
So it’s Friday which means that classes are winding down, and all thoughts are starting to gear towards weekend plans. However, luckier Kollectors are probably starting to plan for their Spring Break vacation which means having to figure out music playlists as well. With two of the biggest names, Kap Slap and 3LAU, in the mashup game going to Electric Island and Electric Beach respectively, they made sure to leave those who aren’t as fortunate to attend the festivals with essential mixes for Spring Break, and the weekend, to hold us over.
Kap’s hour long Spring Break Mix is a combination of his own mashups and bootlegs culminating in absolute insanity. I’ve played this many a times while at the gym since he released it and I can’t even begin to express how amped up I get. Imagine this mix playing on the beach with drinks flowing, tanning oil slathered bodies everywhere, girls in scantily clad bikinis, well you get the picture – everything leads to a great time. Fortunately, the same can be said about 3LAU’s Electro Beach mix. Even being only 30 minutes long, Justin doesn’t play around and gets the party/rave vibe going instantaneously. This is purely a mix combining mixes and remixes from various EDM artists, so perhaps this is a glimpse of what we can expect to see/hear from Justin at Puerto Vallarta. Without You (Kill Paris Remix) – Lana Del Rey
A producer by the name of Kill Paris has caught my attention with his remix of Miss Lana’s dreamy Born To Die track [found on the "Deluxe" version], “Without You”. Her version is a little sleepy, but nonetheless majestic and beautiful. This remix, however, creates a sultry and edgier aura around Rey’s soft, vulnerable vocals – usually a recipe for some excellent chillstep. I wish there was just a tad more variation in this, but I still believe this is a Kollectable item that’s definitely worthy of some major re-play. Grab this for free!

Paddling Out (Jacques Lu Cont Remix) – Miike Snow
Wow, I loved the original Miike Snow track, Paddling Out, but I’ve gotta hand it to Jacques Lu Cont – I might have a new favorite. This remix is so beautiful, so well-done, so melodic. It really brings a whole new feel to the song and seems to capture a whole new emotion. I love it. Take a listen below!

Tongue Tied (Gigamesh Remix) – Grouplove
This song feels like summer in a nutshell. Gigamesh reworks the original Grouplove track Tongue Tied to create a joyous explosion of indie-pop goodness. Grouplove has been on my radar ever since they were remixed in a Skizzy Mars track, and I think this song might just push me to a newfound obsession. This song makes me crave summer unlike any other, and now I just want to drive around with this song on full blast. Kollect on!

No F*cking Around (Kinetics & One Love Remix) – Rafter
Kinetics and One Love have been hibernating creating musical greatness that should be arriving very soon. To keep kollectors satisfied, they released a remix to a Rafters synth-pop song titled No F*cking Around. I truly love the way that the duo presents itself and creating tracks that are widely accepted, yet uniquely different. Their upcoming album Cross-Fading Back to Normal – as stated in the conclusion of this song – will include all original production from One Love. Kollect this track for free!

Letters to the Sky (LoBounce Dubstep Remix) – Civil Twilight
Wow. Sometimes in life, we are blessed with stunning productions that churn up a million emotions in a split second. Sometimes, these reworks happen to be those of already-heavenly original tracks. Civil Twilight, an alternative band that I project will soar in 2012 [their latest album, Holy Weather, out next month], had a gem with their older single “Letters to the Sky”. LoBounce brings this piano-driven anthem to an explosive level, but leaves intricate details and the original beauty of the piece in tact. This is tasteful dubstep done the right way.
I didn’t know this young ‘LoBounce‘ producer before, but he’s completely blown me away with this. Kollect on.
