I can’t be mad though, since The King Kong Experiment has 9 tracks ranging from electro house, drumstep, breaks, and dubstep remixes. The best in my opinion is Skeptiks dubstep banger and Terravita’s drum & bass remix. Download both above and check out all of the remixes here.

Once we hit the chorus the deal had long been sealed- we just see why. It’s a multi-instrumental dynamic that keeps the bright edge of indie-pop, but has just slight notes of street electro- really good vibes. Click the link above to download.

Forthcoming on Chris Brown’s new album Fortune, i’ll be interested to see how it turns out considering that Brown has been leaning towards rap lately as opposed to that weak top 40/R&B (YAAAH YEAAH YAAH, GUWWRRLL I WANNA YOAYYYAYOAYYAAA!!!!). Hopefully I wont get any hate for that…anyways this song is fire, I love the beat, and Chris holds his own with good verses from the other two solid features.

Its been a good last couple days for music – Datsik’s new album, Hoodie’s current #1 All American EP, the bangin’ Lollapalooza lineup, and now this, Bassnectar’s 9th Studio Album entitled Vava Voom. You can’t put a singular genre on Bassnectar, and I think that’s what makes him so good. He is always pushing himself to new heights, expanding genres and pushing the limits of music. Reflecting on his past 9 albums, you’ll see a noticeable difference in style with each project, something I think is important for an artist.

Vava Voom is an impressive and diverse 11 song album filled with heavy bass rap-infused anthems (Vava Voom, Ugly, Ping Pong, What) and Melodic synth-y bangers (Empathy, Butterfly, Nothing has Been Broken). Along with these is the mandatory dope ill.Gates collab as well as my personal favorite, the rock influenced bass-infused high energy track Pennywise Tribute. Again, I can’t stress enough the diversity of Vava Voom. Datsik’s Vitamin D is a good album no doubt, but is it very diverse? Not so much. This may seem like a rushed review but I believe that for something like this, there’s only so much you can hear from me. COP this album.

After countless push-backs along with Datpiff crashing several times, I was finally able to cop TGOD heavyweight Wiz Khalifa’s highly anticipated new mixtape Taylor Allderdice. Being referred to by Wiz himself as the next Kush and Orange Juice, I’ve been hyped for this mixtape for a long time. After Rolling Papers dropped, many (including me) have debated whether Wiz had been lost in the mainstream, and if he would ever go back to the style that gave him such a following in his early mixtape days. The expectations of this tape are high and we finally have it – hopefully Young Khalifa doesn’t disappoint.

That being said…

Wiz Khalifa continues to impress me to the point of no return. Kids talking about living up to Kush&OJ…Taylor Allderdice is its’ own monster, far surpassing it in my opinion. With the 17 tracks on this project, you’ll hear songs reminiscent of that dope chillness K&OJ brought to the table but also more upbeat bangers that you would hear on Cabin Fever. Incorporating new styles and flows to every track and sampling the likes of Curren$y and even Deadmau5, Wiz continues to show us that the sky is the limit in terms of his progression as an artist and that Rolling Papers was a thing of the past (still a great album in my opinion). Crusin/smoking rap music at its best. With interesting insights by Wiz himself at the end of each song, with several guest TGOD features and also a little Ricky Rozay, this mixtape has it all…Seriously, Datpiff doesn’t just crash for regular mixtapes. This is something special. Whether you’re a loyal TGOD follower of just a fan of rap music, this is a MUST download. Peep my favorite tracks off of Taylor Allderdice above, and get the whole thing below. Best mixtape of 2012. Taylor Gang or DIE!!!!!! AHHHH TURN UP!

P.S: Amber Rose has some vocals on a song…not everything can be perfect.

Seattle rhymesayer Prometheus Brown (Geo from Blue Scholars) and LA rapper Bambu collaborated on an album titled Prometheus Brown and Bambu Walk Into A Bar back in July of 2011, and now they have released the official video for one of my favorite tracks Lookin’ Up. The production by Fatgums captivated me with the first piano chords that flowed oh-so-well with the effortless presentation from the two rappers. Add in some holy vocals for some backup and this track is automatic fire. Check out the rest of the album and purchase here if you so desire!
