King Kong [Remixes] – Datsik & Bare

About time for some remixes…I posted the original King Kong track exactly a year and a week ago on the DK and just now are some remixes coming out. I can’t be mad though, since The King Kong Experiment has 9 tracks ranging from electro house, drumstep, breaks, and dubstep remixes. The best in my opinion is Skeptiks dubstep banger and Terravita’s drum & bass remix. Download both above and check out all of the remixes here.

Skeptiks remix is new, but Terravita remix is old… more than 6 months old

Bittersweet Donald – The White Panda

The White Panda Mashup duo released today the full version of arguably their best mash on their fourth mixtape Bambooyah, a mix of Mac Miller’s acclaimed Donald Trump and the (also well known) Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve. A lot of mashes sound great but there are always those that are better than the originals and just seem meant to be together – this is one of them. Download above.

    Warrior – Mark Foster, Kimbra, & A-Trak

So Converse approaches these three and with the publicity Kimbra has gained with her recent performance in Gotye’s success Somebody That I Used To Know and, let’s be real, Mark Foster… it’s sure to blow up.  In Warrior this vocal duo is puppeteered by A-Trak’s immensely catchy beats. Once we hit the chorus the deal had long been sealed- we just see why. It’s a multi-instrumental dynamic that keeps the bright edge of indie-pop, but has just slight notes of street electro- really good vibes. Click the link above to download.

Till I Die (feat. Big Sean & Wiz Khalifa) – Chris Brown

I’m definitely not a Chris Brown fan, but this song is worth listening to, especially with the help of Big Sean (boi!) and TGOD’s stoner king Wiz Khalifa. Forthcoming on Chris Brown’s new album Fortune, i’ll be interested to see how it turns out considering that Brown has been leaning towards rap lately as opposed to that weak top 40/R&B (YAAAH YEAAH YAAH, GUWWRRLL I WANNA YOAYYYAYOAYYAAA!!!!). Hopefully I wont get any hate for that…anyways this song is fire, I love the beat, and Chris holds his own with good verses from the other two solid features.

Vava Voom [Album Review] – Bassnectar

Its been a good last couple days for music – Datsik’s new album, Hoodie’s current #1 All American EP, the bangin’ Lollapalooza lineup, and now this, Bassnectar’s 9th Studio Album entitled Vava Voom. You can’t put a singular genre on Bassnectar, and I think that’s what makes him so good. He is always pushing himself to new heights, expanding genres and pushing the limits of music. Reflecting on his past 9 albums, you’ll see a noticeable difference in style with each project, something I think is important for an artist.

Vava Voom is an impressive and diverse 11 song album filled with heavy bass rap-infused anthems (Vava Voom, Ugly, Ping Pong, What) and Melodic synth-y bangers (Empathy, Butterfly, Nothing has Been Broken). Along with these is the mandatory dope ill.Gates collab as well as my personal favorite, the rock influenced bass-infused high energy track Pennywise Tribute. Again, I can’t stress enough the diversity of Vava Voom. Datsik’s Vitamin D is a good album no doubt, but is it very diverse? Not so much. This may seem like a rushed review but I believe that for something like this, there’s only so much you can hear from me. COP this album.

House of Cards – Collin McLoughlin

It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from the wonderful Collin McLoughlin. With a few cover songs sprinkled over the course of a few months, Collin decided that after much support from his fans on the Billboard Battle of the Bands he would release this gem. House of Cards contains typical smooth vocals from the crooner over some deep synths. This track is sure to help you keep on plugging through the week, whether you’re getting back from spring break, anxiously awaiting it, or just hanging out! Download this track today and help Collin win a chance to perform at the Billboard Music Awards by voting here!
