Scar – Lucy Rose (Video)

This was just too beautiful not to share. “Scar” is both visually and melodically stunning – newcomer Brit (obviously…) Ms. Rose had the opportunity to connect with Bombay Bicycle Club frontman to help jumpstart her career, and my goodness I’m excited! Her vocals are vulnerable and sweet, but are by no means weak. She echos more beautiful waves of Fiest, and has me enchanted. The video is so simple and pure, but leaves me equally as pleased and relaxed. Enjoy your Sunday and gaze at the little things in life that make us smile – sorry, no download available now!

    Spiderwebs – Azad Right

Throwback alert! This Azad Right track surfaced much earlier this year, but was never featured here on the K. It’s a solid work from the Los Angeles artist, featuring a lovely reminder of how amazing the first Coldplay tracks are (samples “Trouble”) and is a stronger indication of Right’s potential. His words are real, the sample creates the perfect dark tone, and Azad shows his promise as a rapper. Kollect above fo’ free, and peep the video here!

Pumped Up Kicks (Cover) – Cris Cab

Man oh man, this kid has got it. He’s put out some very impressive original material, combining a sleek image with an incredible Reggae style (and quite mature for a guy barely old enough to buy a lottery ticket)…but the Miami native creates sweet little covers. The beat is infectious, the signature Cab croon shines through, and a tired pop song is yet again refreshed and made even more fun than before. …Oh the vid concept is pretty legit, too. Kollect one of my new favorites, and tell your friends about this talent!

          Loosen Up – Outasight

This may come across as too poppy for some Kollectors, but “Loosen Up” is a track that deserves to be heard – the newest from Richard Andrew as he approaches his Get it Together album drop! Per usual, Outasight delivers a singing/rap combo that makes him stand out. The lyrics make this one for me; I love how this guy just tells it like it is, including-but-not-limited-to all the little problems in life. Kollect on!

Pumped Up Kicks (Remix) – YONAS

Besides the fact that this Foster the People hit is absolutely ubiquitous (blaring around every corner in America at one point or another), the very talented YONAS puts his sleek flow on top of some switched up production on the mega-jam. He could have come up with a more snazzy title, and perhaps the production could have been more creative… however, YONAS still does his thing, putting a nice hiphop spin on the tune. Can’t wait for some original production from this guy, but for now Kollect this one above for free!

            Friends of Friends – Hospitality

Hospitality, a new pop quartet hailing from Brooklyn, melds together a funky pop tune with “Friends of Friends” – a Monday-morning-kind-o’-jam to start you off on the right foot! Lead vocalist Amber Papini sounds like a real saucy character, and the lively saxophone supports that vibe. With an upcoming album gracing the airwaves in 2012, this NY band is making moves right into your Indie kollection fast. Kollect this sweet one for free now, and stay tuned for that drop!
