Marilyn – G-Eazy Ft. Dominique LeJeune Video

Another brilliant visual from G-Eazy‘s chosen director, Tyler Yee – who has again created a timeless, elegant video that captures the emotional, thoughtful essence of one of G’s best tracks, “Marilyn”. The highs and lows of a relationship become hazily intertwined as they often do, but thankfully in an aesthetically appealing way. Those skyline shots are some of the best. Download the track if you missed it before, and take in another wonderful visual art from G and team.

Keep Your Secrets in Midnight City – Kill Paris

Ah, Kill Paris kills it again. Seriously, his ability to make sexy-smooth melodic dubstep seems effortless at this point. I still have his Lana remix on repeat, and I sense “Keep Your Secrets in Midnight City” is going to be another happy-problem for me. Thankfully, the over-used (but amazing, none-the-less) M83 sample only makes a slight appearance at the beginning and throughout this piece – what really stands out are those lustful female vocals juxtaposed with equally emotional bass over funky synth work. Yes, bass can be emotional. You don’t want to miss out on this download, Kollectors.

Out of My Head – Shadows on Stars Video

You know the kind of music you hear in a new, provocative T.V. show or product commercial? Those tracks that dabble in multiple genres, but seem perfectly fitting for some kind of provocative, swagger-inducing image? That’s what this calls for – as perfectly displayed in this cool new retro-style video. Shadows on Stars is a Portland, OR band I’ve had sitting in my iTunes for some time now. They possess an eclectic, distorted sound that I can’t always get into – but “Out of My Head” deserves attention. Rough, edgy vocals with no lack what-so-ever in the guitar-riff department, “Out of My Head” hasn’t made its way out of mine. Or certainly not after this personality-filled vid. Be sure to grab their debut album for free!

I’m Sorry EP – The Neighbourhood

Upon first hearing Cali band The Neighbourhood‘s “Female Robbery” and my absolute favorite “Sweater Weather” (featured before here), I was hooked on their emotional, heavy presence and unique instrumentation. Their harmonies are suitable for perfect alternative/indie-rock delivery, without lacking a modern edge and noticeable hiphop influence. With this release, it’s safe to say this fivesome will be the next big thing in alternative music. In fact, if they aren’t included on the 2013 Coachella lineup, I’ll be sorely disappointed and shocked.

Every track on this EP is a hit, but for darker reasons, “Wires” is a new one that’s standing out. Grab the entire project here on the K.

Kings and Queens (Throw It Up) – Joseph SoMo

Who is Joseph SoMo, you ask? I didn’t know either until I heard the catchy new release, “Kings and Queens” – which should have labels salivating at its crossover appeal. This is a smooth pop cut that has gotten better with each play, a sure sign that this is material for the majors. If you’re interested in some quality covers, head over to Joseph’s SoundCloud – should hold you over until we hear Joseph’s first mixtape, coming this Summer!

Float (Sound Remedy Remix) – KO KO

The brother duo of Ryan and Taylor Lawhon created an amazing indie-pop-Summer record with “Float“, released earlier this year. Here we have Sound Remedy‘s rendition, which fuses French-inspired electro beats, drum-step beats and a prominent baseline that quietly rides along until its dubstep explostion at 1:45. It’s a little hard at first, but of course evolves melodically and holds your interest. I love the many faces of this release, with the last minute and a half being a relaxing, cosmic listening experience. Don’t miss another quality remix courtesy of the perfect Sound Remedy, Kollectors.
