Jambalaya Mix – Zeds Dead

The Jambalaya tour in Texas commences tomorrow and I must admit, I’m a little jealous. I mean come on; R.L. Grime, Zeds Dead, Tyler the Creator & Earl Sweatshirt, Big Boi, G-Eazy… you just can’t compete with that line-up. Oh well, you win some you lose some. Those of you lucky enough to attend Jambalaya in Texas are about to have a legit time, so party on.

On that note, Zeds Dead just dropped their Jambalaya Mix, and make no doubt about it – this mix delivers. Time and time again, Zeds Dead impress me with their keen eye to track selection and ability to compress many different genres of music into a clean, flowing composition of sounds. I highly suggest you snag this mix for your Kollection – you’ll be glad you did. As usual, head on over to to Zed’s Dead’s Soundcloud to show them some love and check out more of their music.

EDC New York 2013 Sets

If you follow dance music then you know that EDC New York was this weekend and we all know what that means, full sets with unreleased tracks! As I go through the musicsphere and find the sets that I like I’ll keep adding them here, these are the ones I am currently playing out. Lots of good ones, Morgan Page is always one of my favorites if you’re looking for a place to start. Once you get through a couple things I think you’ll agree with me when I say I really, really, really want to go to EDC Las Vegas now…

Cowboy [UZ Remix] – Zeds Dead feat. Omar Linx

We all have those radio rips in our library patiently waiting for the high-quality release to drop. UZ’s remix of Zeds Dead’s ‘Cowboy’ was one of those tracks for me, bringing absolutely crazy bass and energy with the help of long-time collab rapper Omar Linx. UZ has been on fire lately, throwing out hot trap remixes like my last personal favorite the 12th Planet remix Ratchet Strap. UZ, a pioneer of modern trap music, first caught my eye last year with his classic “Trap Shit” volumes. If you (somehow) haven’t heard this guy’s work check him out on soundcloud and throw him a like on facebook. This remix along with several others drops tomorrow on Ultra.

Lies (Zeds Dead Remix) – Marina and the Diamonds

A few days young, but this remix is just now hitting my ears for the first time, and man I’m in love. This is one of the few tracks by Zeds Dead that I truly enjoy – it’s that laid-back, slow, melodic dubstep that I absolutely love. Wonderful vocals, beautifully low drops and a killer melody make this a must-download.

Day Of The Dead Mix – Zeds Dead

Late October can only mean one thing in the mind of every individual, “What the heck am I going to wear for Halloween??” And while we at The Kollection have no solution for that (besides wearing a Kollection Tee and going as a bad ass) we can provide the perfect tunes via Zeds Dead. They released a one hour Halloween Mix that is sure to rock any Halloween dance party combining the top hard hitting tunes from the dance genres. The mix features tracks from artists like Feed Me to Kanye West (yes Mercy is in there like every mix these days…) keeping the good vibes going the whole way through. Download the mix and throw the beat this weekend when the time is right.

Lies – Marina and the Diamonds (Zeds Dead Remix)

The opening minute-plus of this beauty is absolutely blissful. Pre-Dubstep-drop euphoria. Marina’s vocals are simply enchanting, as she possesses a distinct vibrato that separates her from many soprano songstresses. The rip stems from the opening of the Canadian duo’s Mix of the Week featured on Mix Mag, which you can snag for free courtesy of the Magazine here. Kollect on!

Woods (Zeds Dead Remix) – Bon Iver

I wouldn’t expect Zeds Dead to remix a Bon Iver track but I think they did this one really well. The vocals cut through nicely, the drums and bass line are present but not overwhelming and the whole track has a great atmosphere to it. The best part is that they’re are giving this one out for free so be sure to grab a download!

The Fight of My Life (Zeds Dead Remix) – Colin Munroe ft. Pusha T

Zeds Dead have just released this awesome remix of Canadian indie artist Colin Munroe’s track The Fight of My Life, and were even nice enough to give it away for free. They did a great job with this remix in that they have added just enough of the signature Zeds Dead sound while still preserving the original vibe of the song which many dubstep producers seem to have a hard time doing. Be sure to check out the original right here and download this above.

ZEDS DEAD & Omar LinX – Victor EP

The homies over at Mad Decent (Diplo’s Label) have compiled this FREE EP featuring seven collaborations between Zeds Dead and Omar LinX. Needless to say, this EP is another huge production from the Canadian duo who have incorporated a hip-hop sound into each of the songs using the vocals of Omar LinX as well as production techniques that convey a rap/hip-hop vibe, but at the same time, stay true to the Zeds Dead sound. Download each track below!

Adrenaline – Zeds Dead

Brand new 4-song EP from the Zeds Dead duo dropped the other day, and if you listen to it I think you’ll agree that it’s a lot different then the popular dubstep going around today. The first track, In the Beginning, is filled with simply that classic dubstep LFO wobble and not much else. But it all works, and this is a pretty impressive EP. Adrenaline is my favorite track on the EP, get it above. Support Zeds Dead ad buy the whole EP here.
