With the mashup genre being clouded by hundreds of virtual dj producers “mixing” mainstream EDM with top 40 vocals, its hard to find the good stuff sometimes – especially when you’re looking for mashes reminiscent of ’09…Hathbanger mixing Biggie with Party in the USA, Super Mash Bro’s “All About the Scrillions” album. You know, the classic Girl Talk shit. That being said, there is still good stuff like that out there, as The Airport District shows us in his sophomore mixtape, Encore. With a total of 11 tracks and over an hour of continuously-mixed mashes, this project is impressive and I’m sure the sample list is out the roof. The song choice is great and transitions are smooth and flawless. Download the mixtape here (you wont be disappointed) and throw The Airport District a well-deserved like on facebook.
