The rising indie-pop group from Manchester Swiss Lips has made a splash with their euphoric and synth-abundant jam U Got the Power, and it’s been given a fresh transformation with help from Dan Smith, vocalist for Bastille. The remix has much more of a powerful feel with the prominent drumbeats, but it nonetheless captures the youthful vibe that the original encompasses, and Dan’s angelic voice just melts your heart – so there’s that. For best results, listen at a high volume.

Bastille is my current band of the moment, and once I found out that this song was for free download, it was a must share. Remember that song from the early 2000′s What Would You Do from City High? Let it come back to you, then nod your head in remembrance and embrace this sweet cover by London-based Bastille. The drum beats adds some intensity to the original song, and the eerie vocals give it an even more chilling feeling than anticipated. Enjoy this cover, and make sure to grab the rest of their EP “Other People’s Heartache” below.
P.S. Take a listen to ‘Bad Blood,’ one of their newest (and greatest!) songs!
