Freefallin' - Atmosphere

Freefallin’ – Atmosphere

by Brian on September 4, 2010

Another new drop from one of my all time favorite artists, Atmosphere, Freefallin’ is a laid back, chill song that still carries Atmosphere’s traditional sounds, dope lyrics, and amazing beats and melodies. Overall I give this track a thumbs up, but keep in mind that this isn’t a party track at all. Instead, this is one of those songs you might find yourself listening to alone to relax after a long day.

Definitely add this song to your Kollection by downloading for free below. Enjoy…

Motion Dose, a hip hop website I’ve never heard of before, dropped the exclusive premier of Asher Roth’s video to his popular new track, G.R.I.N.D., yesterday. The video is pretty neat, but as always, the song is much better. This is one of my favorite Asher tracks, and has been posted here on the K before. So if you’ve missed it or are new to the site, be sure to download it for free below.

Black and Yellow - Wiz Khalifa

Black and Yellow – Wiz Khalifa

by Brian on September 3, 2010

This new track from Wiz Khalifa dropped a couple of days ago and I’ve been taking my time deciding how I feel about his new sound. It has a much more mainstream, synthetic feel, however I’m still a big fan of Wiz’s lyrics, flow, and overall style. After listening through a few times I found myself enjoying the song more and more, so be sure to give this one a few listens. I can see Black and Yellow being a great party track, but I promise it won’t blow up until those tags are taken out. Whatever, that’s the music industry right now.

Take a listen below and grab the track for free.

Download immediately! The Hilltop Hoods is an Australian hip-hop group that has a lot of sick music. The Nosebleed Section is old but is a killer song and a must have! The chorus and beat is from the song “The People in the Front Row” sung by Melanie Safka. This is easily one of my top favorite hip-hop/rap songs of all time because it has a great instrumental, an addicting chorus, and solid rap lyrics so download it below!

“Ladies come chill, come rock with me honey, I got like half a mill in monopoly money, There’s no stopping me honey, so you can take my hand, We can lay on the beach and count grains of sand.”

These are my two favorite songs off of Dumbfoundead’s mixtape “FREE new music.” Different Galaxies is a chill song with a great chorus and good piano. It’s more of a love song and at one point has dialogue from the movie Westside Story…great movie by the way. Then Peter Pan Complex (Lilly Allen Remix) is good too. Listen to it a few times through and you’ll love it. Peter Pan Complex is for all of you in High School because it has a bunch of lyrics regarding school much like K. Flay’s Paper Planes & spitballs. So enjoy these two songs by this great artist! Don’t forget to get his other track called Up in the Air….which is my favorite Dumbfoundead song!

Different Galaxies ft. Sam Ock Favorite Lyrics:
“It’s the whole world against us. They can try to stop us but we’re going out like gangsters.”

Peter Pan Complex (Lilly Allen Remix) Favorite Lyrics:
“I wont grow up (I wont grow up) I don’t wanna go to school (I don’t wanna go to school) just to learn to be a parrot (Just to learn to be a parrot) and recite a silly rule (and recite a silly rule). I gotta peter pan complex and I don’t wanna grow up, grow up, grow up, no, no, no, if i give up my youth now just consider me dead.”

Mashed Potatoes consists of K. Flay rapping and making fun, laid back music. Her rapping and singing is then “mashed” with instrumentals from popular songs. Although she takes from popular tracks she makes them her own. Filled with funny lyrics, the songs in this mixtape are genuinely fun and enjoyable to listen to. Check out K. Flay’s website and don’t forget to download her song 2 Weak as well!

The song paper planes & SPITBALLS uses the instrumental from Paper Planes by M.I.A. K. Flay raps about school days, so this song is for all of you in High School! My three favorite tracks are listed below but downloading them alone is no substitute for downloading the whole mixtape which is full of great tracks!

My favorite lyrics are from love in this CLUB MED:
“We could learn to scuba dive in the deep blue sea, introduce the fishes to the birds and bees. Deluxe suite, let’s get it. Treat me like a tennis ball boy and hit it.”

Fourteen hours ago NiT GriT dropped his latest mix titled, Burning Man 2010 Mix, and damn am I impressed. This is 26 minute long, heavy hitting dubstep mix that will blow your mind if you are at all into the dubstep scene.

The song flows smoothly, has that deep ‘NiT GriT style’ and pushes through the whole 26 minutes without any audible gap or break in the music.

All I can say is listen below, grab it for free, and remember you saw it here first on the K.

The Chillstep Kollection

The Chillstep Kollection

by Brian on August 28, 2010

It’s Saturday, and I hope everyone’s last week of summer/first week of school went well. I know that I’m tired and in need of some good rest, and I figured some of you were too, so I took a little time today to put together this Chillstep Kollection.

Yes, it’s dubstep. Yes, it’s chill. Chillstep. In this Kollection are 17 beautiful tracks of smooth, laid back, relaxing dubstep songs that I listen to every night falling asleep. In fact, I would highly recommend only listening to this Kollection if you are lying down, lights off, and headphones on. Most of these songs come from my buddy’s website, the Dubstep Collective, so be sure to check his site out for more music like this.

I hope you guys enjoy this little mixtape, be sure to sound off on our Facebook page or Twitter!

Grab the whole Kollection below or listen to 5 samples for free:

New Drake that’s actually good! I was always a fan of Drake’s earlier stuff and I haven’t loved any of his new stuff, sure i’ve liked it but i haven’t truly loved it, until now. The song has a good long chorus and Drake does a solid job with it despite the fact that it’s supposed to be sung by a girl.

“R.I.P. to the girl you used to see. Her days are over, baby she’s over. I’ve decided to give you all of me. Baby come closer, baby come closer. I’m ready for ya.”

I’m becoming a big fan of Cisco Adler and Shwayze. They both make great music alone and together! This song is no exception. The song is great for chilling and such. It isn’t a party song but the song is excellent how it is. I love the chorus the most and how it kind of tells a story. The rap lyrics are quick and witty and as always my favorite lyrics are below.

“I should take her to my starship and let her see my cobra. Good girl gone bad raised on coca-cola.”
